Visa Requirements
Reminder: You should apply for a visa in good time, in case of any delays during processing.

Important note for travelers
According to the bilateral agreements between China and foreign countries, citizens of some countries who meet requirements set out in the bilateral agreements may enter China without a visa. For specific information, please refer to the List of Agreements on Mutual Visa Exemption Between China and Foreign Countries
Application Procedures
Fill out application form at https://cova.cs.mfa.gov.cn. Confirmation page and full form (8 pages in total) must be printed with signature on the confirmation page and item 9 of the form. Please check the information on the application form carefully, so as not to take it back and fill it out again after arriving at the Embassy.
Appointment at https://avas.mfa.gov.cn for ordinary passport holders should be made before Visa Application Submission. Diplomatic passport holders, or applicants eligible for Diplomatic, Service and Courtesy visas may submit visa application directly to the Embassy (no need for appointment).
Submission: Documents shall be submitted to the Embassy in full and at the appointment time.Applicants will be requested to have their fingerprints collected (Visa for Hong Kong and Macau SAR of China are not included). The following applicants can be exempted from fingerprints collection:Applicants under the age of 14 or over 70; Diplomatic passport holders, or applicants eligible for diplomatic, official and courtesy visas;

Basic requirements for VISA Application
Passport - Original passport that is valid for at least another 6 months with at least one blank visa page, and a photocopy of the passport's information/photo page and emergency contact page. The previous old passport is required to be submitted.
Visa application form and the confirmation page with signatures.
One photo - The ID photo should be recent (within 6 months), front view, white background, in 48mm x 33mm size without head covering. Stapled/taped/clipped/detached photos will not be accepted.

The embassies and consulates of the People's Republic of China abroad or other overseas agencies entrusted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are responsible for issuing entry visas to foreigners abroad.
