Paper Submission

Paper Submission Format

Submitted papers will be reviewed by the program committee and papers of high quality will be referred for publication in the Computer Animation and Virtual Worlds (CAVW) journal published by Wiley. The papers accepted as is or with minor revision will be in a special issue. Those with major revision will be given a chance to resubmit and reviewed again by the conference PC for acceptance in a subsequent issue of CAVW. The rest will be either rejected or recommended for publication in conference proceeding. Authors will have to register and present the papers at the conference either in person or online.

Paper Submission and Supplementary Materials

Papers should be submitted in PDF format. You may include videos in MP4, WMV and AVI format. For multiple videos, please use zip file. Please note that there is a maximum file size of 50 MB per submission.

All submissions should be formatted as single-spaced, double column A4 paper size, according to the following templates available for download: LaTeX template [LaTex], or MS Word template [Microsoft Word]. Full paper submissions are limited to 10 pages in length, plus up to two pages of references and/or appendices. Accordingly, short paper submissions are limited to 4-6 pages, and posters should be between 2-4 pages long. If you need any help, please send your enquiry to the conference chairs at: a.aristidou@ieee.org

All submissions will be done through the Easy Chair Submissions page: https://easychair.org/my/conference?conf=casa2024. All edition and update must be done up until the submission deadline.

Note: If you want to edit and update the manuscript, please log in the same account (Username & Password) and update it. Don’t create another account to do so.

Submission Method

Note that the review process is double blind, which requires the paper and all supplemental materials to be anonymous.

Anonymity Guidelines:

  • Remove author and institutional information from the author list on the title page.
  • Remove author information from all paper headers.
  • Remove clues from the main text that would directly identify any of the authors.
  • Your own published work that appears on mainstream (including online) and are available for the reviewer must be cited in the third person, in a manner that is not traceable to the identity of the authors. For example: “In [3], Mountain and River have proposed …” is acceptable, whereas “In [3], we have proposed …” is not, when reference [3] is listed such as “IEEE Trans. PAMI, 6(6):721-741, November 1984”.
  • Anonymize your PDF file. Note that PDF creator programs may accidentally leave Author information in the file header.

Failure to comply with the above requirements will result in direct rejection of the paper

Important note: All papers submitted to CASA’23 must be original and checked for plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, by each author prior to submission. If a paper is found to fall in the category of plagiarism, the paper will be automatically rejected.

    Review Process:

By submitting a paper to CASA, the authors agree to the review process and understand that papers undergo a peer-review process. Manuscripts will be reviewed by a number of qualified experts in the field selected by the Conference Committee, who will give detailed comments and — if the submission gets accepted — the authors submit a revised (“camera-ready”) version that takes into account this feedback.

All papers are reviewed using a double-blind review process, which means that both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa, throughout the review process. To facilitate this, authors need to ensure that their manuscripts are prepared in a way that does not give away their identity.

The Committees of CASA 2024 invest great efforts in reviewing the papers submitted to the conference and organizing the sessions to enable the participants to gain maximum benefit.

    Awards

A number of awards will be conferred during the conference, such as the Best Paper Award.

    Additional Requirements for Camera-Ready Submissions

If your paper is accepted for publication at this conference, you will also need to adhere to the following requirements:

    • Without submitting the copyright form, we can NOT publish your article. The conference secretary will send you a notification about it.
    • REMINDER: At least one of the authors listed on the accepted paper must be registered AND attend the conference to present their paper.

We encourage authors to include their ORCIDs in their camera-ready papers.

    Dual/Double Submissions and Plagiarism:

By submitting a manuscript to CASA, authors acknowledge that it has not been previously published or accepted for publication in substantially similar form in any peer-reviewed venue with publicly accessible papers, including journals, conferences, workshops, or other peer-reviewed, archival forums. Furthermore, no paper substantially similar in content has been or will be submitted to another peer-reviewed conference or workshop with publicly accessible papers during the review period. The authors also attest that they did not submit a substantially similar submission to CASA 2024. As a rule of thumb, the CASA submission should contain no more than 20 percent of material from previous publications. Violation of any of these conditions will lead to rejection.

All submitted articles should report original, previously unpublished research results, experimental or theoretical. Articles submitted to the conference should meet these criteria and must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere. We firmly believe that ethical conduct is the most essential virtual of any academic. Hence any act of plagiarism is a totally unacceptable academic misconduct and cannot be tolerated. If an author is found to commit an act of plagiarism, the following acts of sanction will be taken:

    1. Reject the article submitted or delete the article from the final publications.
    2. Report the authors violation to his/her supervisor(s) and affiliated institution(s).
    3. Report the authors violation to the appropriate overseeing office of academic ethics and research funding agency.
    4. Reserve the right to publish the authors name(s), the title of the article, the name(s) of the affiliated institution and the details of misconduct, etc. of the plagiarism.
